I just saw this posted on a seller’s listings:

“Insurance is optional, because USPS will not insure if package makes any noise when shaken I must open seal to prevent the contents from shifting making any noise. This will only be done to those that wish to insure.”
Has anybody else ever heard of this? This was for software, so of course there is going to be some noise when shaken, and I can’t imagine them not insuring computer software because there is some rattling noise on the inside.

For example, if I were to purchase some expensive software, I would want it insured, and I also wouldn’t want it already opened when I receive it.

sounds like maybe the seller has a wacko postal clerk. Just pay with Paypal using a credit card and if there is a problem you can file a complaint to get a refund.
