I see one seller I know getting feedback like this

Is there any way to hide the postage on a package when you have it weighed/paid AT the post office? I see one seller I know getting feedback like this:

paid 13.99 for shipping to canada when the postal stamp indicates a cost of 3.97

Item good but shipping is 2 expensive recieve item in mail envelope $5.87 sorry

I know you can hide postage when you print your own online labels, but I am still going to the retail counter for non-domestic shipments, and although my shipping is reasonable (sometimes at a loss when I consider the boxes I have to buy and use), I would still like to hide the postage rate. Can they accommodate this at the retail counter if you request it?

I am thinking not, so my next question is about overseas postage paid/printed online: Do you still have to stand in line at the post office when you print your own labels for non-domestic shipments? Do I use the regular white/green Customs Declaration form I always use or do we have to use something different when printing export shipping labels online? Since I THINK customs in these other countries take postage into account when evaluating value, is it safe to assume that even online printing has to disclose shipping costs?

So did you go about it yourself, used a “web attorney” like LegalZoom.com, or did you find yourself a real attorney?

Would moneybookers work for you?

Would moneybookers work for you? I see them mentioned often by international sellers and they’re on the eBay approved payments list. I don’t have any personal experience with them, so all I can offer is their name.

you’ll have to create new auctions

I’ve run into the same thing with my car brochures! I don’t think the non-fiction category would be wise. Try Collectibles > Transportation > Automobilia and the subcategories under it.

Does anyone have a better solution?

As a rule, I do not accept PayPal for international buyers. BidPay was a good alternative, making it easier for them to pay online.

Does anyone have a better solution?

I hate to have to exclude international buyers due to PayPal Sellers Protection,I don’t have personal experience with any of the other payment services, so I don’t know what’s best, or what’s good for international sales, but this is the official eBay list of accepted payment services so maybe you can check them out:

Payment Services permitted on eBay: Allpay.net, Bidpay, cash2india, CertaPay, Checkfree.com, hyperwallet.com, Moneybookers.com, Nochex.com, Ozpay.biz, Paymate.com.au, Propay.com, XOOM

This should bring up listings with any of those keywords

Ok lets say I want to search for 10 things at once and I want to do it everyday. I can’t seem to do this.

like if i want to search for an:

eclipse cd7000, eclipse cd5000, paradigm speakers, etc. all at once, everyday. is this possible or am i going to have to save tons of small searches?

I can usually use the “OR” command in searches but ebay’s search seems primitive as hell

Make sure to block buyers from countries to which you don’t ship

No! Do NOT mark the reason as a mutual agreement, especially if buyer is non-US! Mutual requires buyer to confirm in order to cancel and get your fees refunded, and far too many sellers end up getting screwed when their buyer refused to confirm due to ignorance or hostility! And you only get one shot at it.

I don’t recall exactly what the steps/sequence is when filing the Unwelcome Bidder, I just wanted to emphasize that anything saying “mutual” or “agreed” should be avoided at all cost here.

Tell them to pay according to your TOS

You do not have to accept a payment method that isn’t listed in your listing terms, especially if it would be inconvenient for you.

Is this auction already completed, or is a potential bidder asking you before bidding? Can you give the exact wording of his email? There are a lot of scammers out there who send out fake Western Union money orders. We can sometimes tell if it is a scam or not by the wording.

If the buyer wants to send you a WU money order for MORE than the amount of the auction and have you send him a refund, then it is definitely a scam.

On the other hand, if the buyer doesn’t live in a country where Paypal is allowed or there are no international money orders available at his postal service (true in most countries), it could be a genuine offer.

That’s true, midnyte. Looks pretty odd

The dates are messed up, though. Like, some of those recent positives came from new transactions (November), while some of the negatives are for older transactions (October). Not chronological.

Looks like the guy had a great record, then for some reason became a problem eBayer only for some transactions. Other transactions were just fine in the midst of his moody streak.

I wonder what happened!

The one in their list is USPS Int’ First Class

others December 27th, 2007

I won a postal scale yesterday and e-mail them for amount I should pay in minutes since before I bid I asked for USPS Int’ Priority Flat Box as shipping method and they agreed. (The one in their list is USPS Int’ First Class.)

No, reply from seller yet.

So I should just pay for Int’ First Class or just wait a bit for amount they’ll tell me? (More possible that the scale will be shipped after New Year if they reply me in late.)
